Support Greens councillors to take climate action and help your community

Community energy schemes, energy saving schemes and encouraging energy efficient building design are just a few ways for councils to support action against climate change.

Councils can conserve bushland and green spaces (if the state government hasn’t overridden them), establish community gardens, install safe walking and cycling paths, solar panels on council rooftops and energy efficient lighting. Councils manage our waste, run education programs and provide grants for community schemes.

Councils can work to ensure that the benefits of climate actions are available across the community but grassroots support from people like you is vital. Please contact your councillors and call for action.
